Safer Internet Day

At Lidget Green we are doing our bit for a safer internet, not just on Safer Internet Day, but everyday. But to mark Safer Internet Day we had assemblies and Year 6 made Glogs to get the message across but tomorrow February 10th is the Parents chance to logon and learn.

Passwords

We all know about keeping passwords safe and not telling them to friends but how strong is your password. Mrs Yo and I often play a guessing game with people when we are setting them up on the system for the first time, 9 out of 10 times we can guess their passwords before they tell us. DON’T MAKE YOUR PASSWORD OBVIOUS!

Year 6 write our Acceptable Rules

Year 6 have been working on what is acceptable when using computers. These are the rules they came up with.
1. Log out after you have finished
2. Don’t give out personal information
3. Don’t go on a website without checking with an adult
4. Make sure you know who you are talking to
5. Don’t talk to people you don’t know
6. Don’t download anything without checking with an adult
7. Respect copyright
8. Don’t use abusive language or rude words. Be polite, be respectful
9. Use Safesearch or a children’s search engine
10. If you want to upload pictures check with an adult first
11. Report abuse and unsuitable sites
12. Don’t tell anyone your password
13. Don’t use anyone else’s account
14. Don’t sign up for anything without checking first.
15. Don’t open any files you have been sent without checking with an adult first.
